ABSTRACT
This project aims to build career experience and professional capacity of early career researchers focusing on AI, Machine Learning or related policy issues. The program will support three Professional Development Awardees (PDA) posted at an IDRC African regional office. Each PDA will join IDRC for a one-year paid program to work within the AI4D Africa and AI4COVID team to roll out key program activities, as well as undertake research on the AI for development topic of choice. They will receive hands-on experience in research and program management and support, grant administration, and the creation, dissemination, and use of knowledge from an international perspective.
GENERAL OBJECTIVE:
To build career experience and professional capacity of early career ML researchers.
SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES:
- Build professional experience an internship opportunity to help in the implementation of the AI4D Africa and Global South AI4Covid programs.
- Build research experience through a mentored, artificial intelligence for development research process.
- Support the integration of new project partners into AI4D Africa.
