The AI4D Gender Knowledge Synthesis Series

Women At The Table has unveiled a stellar series of webinars focused on sharing the work of extraordinary African AI researchers and the AI4D research family with counterparts and the world. Dubbed the ‘Gender Knowledge Synthesis series’, it will focus on issues of critical importance as we struggle to create a more inclusive and equitable world with AI and emerging technologies.

They will kick this series of on August 31st with this webinar:

Decoloniality, Gender & AI:  Where do these areas of work intersect?

This discussion will delve into pressing issues surrounding gender, racial, and intersectional bias within Artificial Intelligence and Algorithmic Decision-Making processes. These biases, often originating in the Global North and replicated in the Global South, need urgent correction to unlock the pro-social potential of AI and ADM. This webinar will explore how the projects of decoloniality, feminism, and AI intersect, as they all share concerns related to power, representation, and justice.
