July 25, 2020

The deaf population face many challenges in society. Apart from being unable to communicate with most people, they are often isolated and may not have equal access to public services such as education and housing which can negatively impact their lives and those around them. In his presentation, Abdelhak says that many Moroccan children do not get access to education. The government has stepped in to build programs to support the education of deaf children in the country. however, most teachers are hearing and have limited understanding of MSL (Moroccan Sign Language). They also lack the resources and tools needed more specifically those that translate written or spoken language to sign language.

In this presentation, he proposes a solution to this problem through the project he has been working on.
